The controlling stake in the state-owned enterprise Turboatom is not subject to privatization, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated during the Government Question Hour meeting.
“This enterprise is on the list of privatization, but conditions for its sale, which means the sale of its part, will be determined by a relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers. My position is as follows: the controlling stake should remain in the state ownership, while the rest of the stake can be put up for sale, and we should attract well-known manufacturers of similar products in the world and make Turboatom even stronger,” said Groysman.
He urged MPs not to spread inaccurate information about the privatization of Turboatom. Groysman emphasized that privatization in general should not be regarded as simply sale, because it was primarily the attraction of new investments, new technologies and creation of new jobs.
