A regular dialogue between Ukraine and Moldova at the governmental level has contributed to a significant increase in trade between the countries, which amounted to $885 million in 2017, and is expected to grow to $1 billion in 2018, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion said at a meeting with Minister of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova Chiril Gaburici in Kyiv.
“We have every reason to speak about an increase in our bilateral trade up to $1 billion this year. In particular, it will be possible to achieve due to the roadmap for the development of the Moldova-Ukrainian cooperation for 2018, signed by the prime ministers of Ukraine and Moldova in Chisinau in October last year,” the Ukrainian deputy prime minister stressed.
According to him, the recently signed bilateral agreements on air and road transport liberalization between the two countries also contribute to the deepening of economic and investment cooperation.
In addition, the parties at the meeting discussed the issues of the next meeting of the intergovernmental Ukrainian-Moldovan commission for trade and economic cooperation. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
