In 2017 a bilateral trade between Ukraine and Germany increased by almost 23% YoY, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said after a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state informed.
The head of the Ukrainian state stressed: “I can say that we’ve worked well in the economy. Last year we had a huge increase in bilateral trade. It grew by almost 23%”.
“This is one of the record figures among many countries. I think that this is the result of the full implementation of the Association Agreement, including DCFTA, when both Ukrainian and German commodity producers have unhindered access to the markets. This leads to a significant increase in the volume of mutual trade, which, as I was informed by the first vice prime minister of the Ukrainian government, already reaches 8 billion euros. I think this is a very encouraging figure,” Poroshenko said.
According to the president, the intensity of contacts that took place in recent days emphasizes the unique nature of Ukrainian-German relations. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
