Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman says that the introduction of new rules for the privatization of state-owned enterprises will put an end to the shadow component of this process.
“The state-owned enterprises of strategic importance will not be sold. Small enterprises will be sold through an electronic auction like ProZorro absolutely openly and transparently, and there will be no controlled privatization. This decision will put an end to the shadow privatization in the country. It is a strong blow to corruption,” Groysman said at the Cabinet’s meeting on May 10.
It is necessary to attract highly qualified advisers to the process of preparation for privatization of large state enterprises, who will correctly prepare it and provide information to the potential buyers and investors, Groysman noted.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law “On Privatization of State Property” on January 18.
In March the State Property Fund reported that they had approved about 600 facilities of small-scale privatization, which would be put up for sale in 2018. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
