The State Automobile Roads Agency of Ukraine, also known as Ukravtodor, plans to introduce an automatic weigh-in-motion system for trucks, which excludes the human factor, Acting Ukravtodor Head Slawomir Nowak said.
“From our part, we want to introduce an automatic weigh-in-motion system when nobody stops the truck, but photos are taken when there is a violation and a fine is immediately imposed. We have already done it in Poland,” he said.
According to the official, this is a very convenient tool, “because we exclude the human factor, and in addition, this system is faster and cheaper.” (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
