In 2017 turnover of drug wholesale traders in Latvia and abroad was EUR 846.76 million without VAT. Compared to the previous year, this means an increase of 6%, according to data compiled by State Agency of Medicines.
Wholesale traders continued increasing turnover of medicines in Latvia and other countries. The volume of medicines sold in Latvia grew by 5% last year, forming EUR 469.16 million (without VAT). Outside of Latvia the volume of realized medicines grew by 9%, reaching EUR 203.92 million (without VAT).
Among wholesale traders selling medicines, Recipe Plus remained in the lead in Latvia last year, having increased turnover by 5% YoY. SIA Tamro is the second and SIA Magnum Medical is the third turnover-wise.
Medicine turnover-wise, SIA Tamro was in the lead in Latvia in 2017. Compared to 2016, SIA Tamro increased its turnover of medicines outside of Latvia by 73%. Recipe Plus is the second and Baltacon is the third with medicine turnover outside of Latvia up by 14%. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
