Assets of the Ukrainian banking system as of early November totaled UAH 1.277 billion, down by 0.29% MoM, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The central bank said that since early 2017 assets had grown by 1.08%.
Total assets of banks (not taking into account reserves for active transactions) narrowed by 0.03% in October, to UAH 1.753 trillion, and since early 2017 they have increased by 10.25%.
Funds on correspondent accounts at other banks fell by 16.15%, to UAH 112.283 billion. Since early 2017 the decline has been 16.91%.
However, growth of the banks’ credit portfolio was 1.52%, to UAH 1.007 trillion
The volume of fixed deposits in other banks fell by 5.96%, to UAH 43.977 billion. Since early 2017 the decline has been 40.63%.
As of November 1, 88 banks operated in Ukraine, including 38 banks with foreign capital, including 18 banks with 100% foreign capital. (Interfax-Ukraine/Business World Magazine)
