In March APK-Inform analysts adjusted the forecast supply and demand balances of grains and pulses in Ukraine, and once again lowered the article of domestic consumption of grains in the current season to the level of 25.3 million tons, a decrease of 1% compared with the previous forecast in February, and down by 2% compared with the indices for 2015/2016 MY.
The low rates of mixed feed production in Ukraine and the current fall of agricultural animals livestock contributed to development of such changes. Also, the bearish trends in grain seeds fund for using in the current season caused the similar reduction in the forecast of domestic consumption, said the grain market analyst at APK-Inform Agency Andrei Kupchenko.
According to him, APK-Inform Agency also forecasts some decreasing of barley areas in Ukraine. In particular, estimations of the planted areas under winter barley for the harvest-2017 became 10% less compared with last year. Spring barley areas will reduce by 1% compared with last year, added the analyst. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
