This year the spring weather processes influencing the plant development started almost a month ahead of the multi-year average.
According to meteorologists, the meteorological and actual resumption of winter crops growth happened on March 1-5 against the multi-year average of April 1-4. Last year their growth started on April 1.
In general, winter crops have survived the winter well, no loss of plants was revealed in most areas. Winter wheat plants are at the second stage of organogenesis (tillering).
In the southern and western regions, the weather allowed farmers to begin sowing early cereals. So, 38% of the planned areas have already been seeded in Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odessa regions, 34% in Kherson region, 19% in Chernivtsi region and 17% in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
