In 2016 Naftogazvydobuvannya operated by DTEK Naftogaz produced 1,630,800,000 cubic meters of natural gas, up by 25% YoY. The company also extracted 56,100 tons of gas condensate, up by 24% YoY.
The increased gas and gas condensate output came from the completed drilling and commissioning of three wells at Semirenkivske gas and condensate field, which is 5,700-5,770 meters deep. In addition, Naftogazvydobuvannya overhauled four wells in the field and worked to boost production at the operating wells.
“We broke a new record both in the history of our company and private natural gas production in Ukraine. This is an important milestone, which proves strong outlooks for the sector given that a professional approach, sufficient investment and modern technologies are in place. However, the external factors such as the market situation and the regulatory and investment environment are slowing down the development of gas production today. To give a new impetus to the industry and meet government’s goal of reaching the gas independence by 2020, we need prompt actions to introduce an enabling fiscal regime, deregulate the sector and develop clear and transparent rules for subsurface management”, Igor Schurov, CEO of DTEK Naftogaz, said.
