Azerbaijan and Iran will discuss the second stage of implementation of the International North-South Transport Corridor, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said.
The first stage of implementation of the North-South transportation corridor is nearly completed, said the minister.
“We are already completing the construction of the railway to the Iranian border and the railway bridge over the Astara River”, Mustafayev added.
The International North-South Transport Corridor is meant to connect Northern Europe with Southeast Asia. It will serve as a link connecting the railways of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia.
The corridor is planned to transport 6 million tons of cargo per year at the initial stage and 15-20 million tons of cargo in the future. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
