Ukrainian agricultural producers planted winter grains throughout the areas of 6.951 million ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine informed on December 14.
In particular, agrarians planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 5.911 million ha, winter rye – 158.1 thousand ha, and winter barley – 882.3 thousand ha.
Also, agrarians planted winter rapeseed for the harvest-2017 throughout 845.2 thousand ha.
According to the announcement, sprouts of winter crops in Ukraine appeared throughout the areas of 6.5 million ha. Nearly 5.4 million ha of the sprouted areas were in good and satisfactory condition, and 1.1 million ha – in poor and thinned condition. Nearly 465 thousand ha (or 7%) did not provide any sprouts at all.
In addition, the sprouts of winter rapeseed appeared throughout 782.5 thousand ha, including 642.7 thousand ha in good and satisfactory condition, 138.4 thousand ha – in weak and thinned condition. Nearly 62.7 thousand ha (or 7%) did not provide any sprouts. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
