Taking into account the results of sunflower seed harvesting campaign, the forecast of sunflower oil production in Ukraine in 2016/2017 MY totals 5.5 million tons, and the exports – 5 million tons, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi declared.
He noted that the country would be able to reach such production indicators due to the record harvest of sunflower seed in the current year, which was estimated at 12.9 million tons, up by 1.7 million tons YoY.
Ukraine will keep the global leading positions in the production of sunflower seed, as well as the production and exports of sunflower oil, Kutovyi added. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
