Purchase prices for grains continued strengthening on Bulgaria’s domestic market last week. The Bulgarian national currency strengthened against the U.S. dollar over the week, though its growth was slight.
The domestic grain market is propped up by reviving demand not only from millers but also from traders. The market purchasing operations are assessed as active. Barley sales went up as well. Bulgarian barley exports to the EU market were seen in the reporting week.
Substantial growth of milling wheat exports from Bulgaria maintained the export market. Export prices for Bulgarian wheat with 11.5% protein remain at $176-179 FOB for December delivery. Bulgaria’s milling wheat enjoys demand within the European Union and from non-EU countries. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
