Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that the full-featured energy market is being created in Ukraine.
“The market is competition, including competitive prices for consumers. The creation of the full-featured energy market, growth of own gas production, introduction of energy efficiency and the increase of budget revenue received from state-run companies – all these are consequences of those decisions to recover the energy sector we are making”, Groysman said on his Facebook page.
He said that in October France’s Engie signed the contract with Ukrtransgaz on gas storage in Ukrainian underground storage facilities. Switzerland’s Trading SA and TrailStone Energy LLC signed the contracts with Ukraine.
“When we are criticized for the fact that 6.5-7 million households will receive subsidies, I would like to say that not new prices made Ukrainians poor. Many-year money depletion schemes used for the pockets of oligarchs who hid themselves with allegedly cheap gas have made our country poor. Today we are breaking these schemes, despite hot and strong resistance of those who were involved in their creation. The news we receive now confirms that the situation is changing. These changes would be more tangible day by day”, Groysman said. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
