Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers is creating an ad hoc working group to analyze the situation in the aerospace sector and draw up mechanisms for increasing its management efficiency, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.
Groysman, speaking in parliament, knocked at the effectiveness of the aerospace sector management. He said that the sector enterprises with a large potential should be steered out of the crisis. He mentioned Pivdenmash (Dnipro) among these enterprises.
Groysman said that after discussing the situation in the aerospace sector at a closed-door government meeting it was decided to create an ad hoc working group to analyze the situation.
“I want to understand what is going on in the aerospace sector: what projects are being implemented, how effective they are and if they have large problems. I think they have problems”, he said.
The prime minister said that the situation with financing the sector and the sector management system required urgent analysis.
Groysman thanked the Verkhovna Rada for passing the bill settling the Pivdenmash’s debt of 400 million UAH for electricity. At the government meeting the State Space Agency of Ukraine was also instructed to pay the wage arrears at the enterprise amounting 50-60 million UAH. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
