Development of the agricultural sector is the priority direction for Azerbaijan. In the nearest future, it is planned to completely provide the domestic needs in grains, and develop the export potential, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared.
According to him, the country does not have large-scale land areas. Therefore, Azerbaijan will rationally use every inch of land, and increase the yield indices. If the average yield reaches 4-4.5 ton/ha, the agricultural industry will satisfy the domestic needs with the existing crop areas.
According to him, the government makes its best to provide agrarians with all the required resources: they are exempt from all taxes, except for the land tax, as well as receive subsidies on concession terms, fertilizers, fuel, etc. Also, the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support provides loans with preferential conditions, and the government builds the required infrastructure.
Aliyev noted that agrarians would start processing new planted areas, and the government already started actively working in the direction. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
