Freight volume handled at the Port of Klaipeda between January and October increased by 3% YoY and totaled 33.27 million tons, the Port Authority statistics said.
In October, the port handled 3.38 million tons of cargo (-0.2%, YoY) including 1.52 million tons of liquid bulk cargo (-14.6%), 1.18 million tons of general cargo (+25.4%) and 670,440 tons of dry bulk cargo (+2.2%)
State-run Port of Klaipeda, the northernmost ice-free port on the East coast of the Baltic Sea, is the largest Lithuanian transport hub, connecting sea and inland traffic lanes. There are 17 stevedore companies, shipyards and other operators at the port, providing a broad range of services.
