On November 1, the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and Turkey came onto effect. The document implies a number of advantages for local businesses, especially for farmers.
Among the benefits for local businesses is unlimited access without tariff restrictions on imports of agricultural products to the Turkish market.
Moldova will cancel customs duty for some sensitive products (vegetables and fruit), but only within a certain period during the year (off season) including fresh and chilled tomatoes, pears, quinces, apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, strawberries, reads a release of the Ministry of Agriculture.
