Ukraine on October 29, imported record-breaking 43.858 million cubic meters of natural gas from Slovakia, according to data from the public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz.
The previous highest figure for imports from Slovakia in the 26-month history of gas imports from this country was recorded in October: daily imports exceeded 42 million cubic meters in the period from October 22 through October 28.
On October 1 through October 29, Ukraine imported 1.441 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe, including 1.197 billion cubic meters from Slovakia, 122.4 million cubic meters from Poland and 121.5 million cubic meters from Hungary.
Earlier Naftogaz Ukrainy Board Chairman Andriy Kobolev predicted that in October gas imports from Europe would total some 1.3-1.4 billion cubic meters.
