As of October 20, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 49.872 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 11.905 million ha, or 83% of the plan. The average yield totaled 4.19 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 51.2 million tons.
In particular, agrarians continued harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 10.918 million tons of the grain throughout 1.91 million ha (45%). The average yield reached 5.72 ton/ha.
Ukraine harvested 187 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 146 thousand ha (97%). The average yield totaled 1.28 ton/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 101 thousand ha (97%). The production volumes totaled 185 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.83 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 10.916 million tons of sunflower seed throughout 4.964 million ha (84%), with the average yield of 2.2 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 3.018 million tons of the oilseed throughout the areas of 1.392 million ha (76%), with the average yield of 2.17 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued realizing the planting campaign of winter grains. As of October 20, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 5.646 million ha (77% of the plan), down 207 thousand ha compared with the same date last year.
In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 5.057 million ha (82%), winter rye – 145 thousand ha (99%), and winter barley – 443 thousand ha (43%). Also, Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout 775 thousand ha (107%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
