Over the 8 months of 2016 flour production in Ukraine lowered by another 6%. Over January-August Ukraine produced 1.212 MMT against 1.288 MMT over the same period of 2015.
Flour production went down in all the key producing regions: Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Kherson, Odessa, etc.
In contrast to the mentioned regions, production in Lugansk region is recovering. Over the reporting period this region produced 4.5 times more flour – 21.3 KMT against 4.7 KMT over January-August 2015. In Donetsk region tendency of flour production decrease remains (-17% to 14.3 KMT).
Along with this, bread and bakery production decreased by 5.4% over the reporting period of 2016 to 749.4 KMT and macaroni production lowered by 7.3% to 53.3 KMT. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
