During the last week of August and first week of September the weather was warm without precipitations. Only in the southern regions rains were observed in the form of heavy showers and in some regions – with lightning.
Average daily air temperature ranged 17-26.8 C and was 1-6 C higher than norm. Maximum temperature in the warmest days rose in the South to +36 C, and minimum lowered to +7 C. Upper soil layer warmed to +50-62 C in the daytime.
Sunflower of optimal and early sowing terms is at the stage of ripening – technical ripening. Several regions started its harvesting.
Soybean sowings are in satisfactory condition. Depending on the variety, plants are at various phases of development. Harvesting of ultra-early and early varieties has already been started. Plants of mid-ripening varieties are at the final stage of beans filling – maturation. Late ripening terms are at filling stage. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
