The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) of Ukraine opens competitive selection for CEO positions at state-owned companies Ukrkhimtransamiak (operator of ammonia pipeline), Elektrovazhmash (electric machinery producer), Mariupol Commercial Seaport and Boryspil International Airport.
The ministry has invited reputable recruiting agencies to help find top-class managers with an impeccable reputation and successful track record in the private sector. The winners will be eligible for competitive remuneration on par with Ukraine’s private sector.
Given that the companies fall under the category of highly important for Ukraine’s economy the competitive selection will proceed in 3 stages (as per Cabinet of Ministers resolution No. 777 of 03.09.2008). At the first stage, a selection commission created by the Nomination Committee will select from 2 to 5 finalists from among the candidates in the long list. At the second stage, the Nomination Committee will identify the most qualified candidates from among the finalists and will recommend their appointment to the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Nomination Committee consists of 5 ministers and 5 independent members representing international financial institutions and Ukraine’s business community. The deadline for applications is October 4. (me.gov.ua/Business World Magazine)
