Naftogazvydobuvannya operated by DTEK Naftogaz has commenced drilling a new well at Semirenkivske gas and condensate field. The project will employ new engineering solutions and environmental approaches.
The 5,628 m deep well will be slanted, yet the company is going to drill, explore and test it in just 160 days.
Naftogazvydobuvannya will use a retrofitted top drive drilling system with boring pumps having a capacity of 1,300 horsepower and a four-stage cleaning system. Also, it is going to utilize the latest developments in drilling bits that have proven durable with a fast drilling rate as well as clayless mud that has been successfully used in the past projects.
The company is applying the technology of pitless drilling, which means that no drilling waste is disposed on site. Thus, the environmental approach meets the best international standards.
“To make the well, we are going to employ new geological and technical solutions to reduce the risks of complications, improve the quality of construction works and develop the natural potential of the field. In summer we are planning to extract gas from this well, which will help ensure stable gas production in 2017. However, the key factors such as the market situation and the regulatory and investment environment will shape our further development,” said Igor Shchurov, CEO of DTEK Naftogaz.
