As of December 2, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 63.386 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 13.859 million ha, or 99% of the plan. The average yield totaled 4.57 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 60 million tons.
In particular, as of the reporting date agrarians harvested 24.209 million tons of corn throughout 3.819 million ha (90%). The average yield reached 6.34 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine almost completed the harvesting campaign of sunflower seed, and produced 13.41 million tons of the oilseed. The harvested areas reached 5.894 million ha (99%), with the average yield at 2.28 ton/ha.
Also, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 4.127 million tons of soybeans throughout the areas of 1.799 million ha (98%), with the average yield of 2.29 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued realizing the planting campaign of winter grains. As of December 2, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 6.952 million ha (94% of the plan), up 276 thousand ha compared with the same date last year.
In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 5.912 million ha (95%), winter rye – 158 thousand ha (107%), and winter barley – 882 thousand ha (86%). Also, Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout 845 thousand ha (117%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
