As of September 16, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 39.99 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 10.21 million ha, or 71% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.91 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 38.5 million tons.
In particular, agrarians continued harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 1.264 million tons of corn throughout 283 thousand ha (7%). The average yield reached 4.46 ton/ha.
Also, Ukraine harvested 149 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 117 thousand ha (78%). The average yield totaled 1.28 ton/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 92 thousand ha (89%). The production volumes totaled 168 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.82 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 4.177 million tons of sunflower seed throughout 2.015 million ha (34%), with the average yield of 2.07 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 1.028 million tons of the soybeans throughout the areas of 493 thousand ha (27%), with the average yield of 2.08 ton/ha.
22 regions of Ukraine started the planting campaign of winter grains. As of September 16, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 855 thousand ha (12% of the plan), as opposed to 893 thousand ha on the same date last year. In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 818 thousand ha (13%), 23 thousand ha (16%) of rye, and 13 thousand ha (1%) of barley.
