The Government has allocated UAH 1 billion from the State Budget Reserve Fund to enhance the capabilities of the “Phoenix” unmanned aerial systems unit of the State Border Guard Service. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Head of Government noted that the funds would be used to purchase modern strike and reconnaissance drones, as well as the necessary equipment and supplies.
“Phoenix” was the first UAV unit within the State Border Guard Service and one of the most effective. In the past year alone, it eliminated almost 8,000 enemy targets, causing losses of around $60 million in enemy equipment.
