Since July, Russia has launched a wave of massive attacks on Ukraine’s railway infrastructure, targeting key junction stations. This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, CEO of the JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.
“Shahed drones are massively attacking our key stations. Examples include attacks on Lozova station, Synelnykove station, and Koziatyn station. Essentially, they are striking junction stations across the country,” Pertsovskyi emphasized.
He noted that these were complex attacks, targeting power substations, locomotive depots, and passenger terminals.
“The enemy strikes in a way that, in essence, aims to destroy the hub,” he added.
Pertsovskyi also highlighted the heroism of Ukrzaliznytsia employees, who, despite repeated attacks, went out and restored the infrastructure.
“Even when key junction stations are under attack, we do not cancel trains. We find ways to adjust schedules, but we always keep them running. Ukrainians notice this and thank railway workers for their resilience,” the CEO said. (Ukrinform)
