Ukraine: number of millionaires grows significantly

According to the results of 2024, more than 17 thousand people in Ukraine declared incomes of more than 1 million hryvnia, 6.6 thousand people more than in the previous period. This was reported by the Chairman of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko.
According to him, in total, millionaires declared income in the amount of 253.6 billion UAH, and 8.7 billion UAH of tax liabilities were determined to be paid.
In particular, one of the residents of Kyiv set a record amount of his tax liabilities for personal income tax and military tax to be paid to the budget – more than 4.6 billion UAH.
According to Kravchenko, in total, more than 170 thousand declarations for 326 billion UAH were submitted. Compared to the previous year, this is 107 billion UAH more.
According to the results of the declaration, citizens independently determined to pay personal income tax (PIT) – 8.1 billion UAH and military tax – more than 1.5 billion UAH.
The largest amounts were declared by residents of:
– Kyiv – 156 billion UAH;
– Dnipropetrovsk region – almost 30 billion UAH;
– Lviv region – 18.2 billion UAH;
– Kyiv region – 17.5 billion UAH.
In addition, the largest amounts of income declared by citizens were:
– Foreign income – UAH 34.2 billion,
– Inheritance and gifts – UAH 13.6 billion,
– Income from the sale of movable and immovable property – UAH 6.8 billion,
– Investment income – UAH 4.9 billion,
– Other taxable income – UAH 4 billion,
– Income from renting out property – UAH 3.4 billion.
As Kravchenko noted, more than 53 thousand citizens took advantage of the right to a tax deduction – and would receive UAH 330 million from the budget. Compared to the same period last year, this is UAH 36 million more. (URP)
