The cost of construction index across Georgia decreased by 5.2% in January compared to the preceding month, the National Statistics Office of Georgia said on March 9.
The statistics body said the change had been mainly caused by the 23.4% decrease in the average monthly nominal salary of employees in the industry, which caused a 4.8% reduction in the total index.
The index increased by 5.7% compared to February 2022, influenced by a 4.8% increase in the prices of construction materials, which contributed a 2.73%age change to the total figure, the update also said. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
