The Ukrainian court ruled to seize property belonging to Russian corporations totaling more than UAH 4.5 billion.
The Office of the Prosecutor General noted that the pre-trial inquiry launched into the plotting and conducting an aggressive war against Ukraine identified assets of Russian corporations, including those hidden in offshore jurisdictions, that could be used in subversive operations against Ukraine.
The court ruled to seize corporate rights of nine Ukrainian companies owned by the Russian holding companies Rostech, Tatneft, RusAl and GMS Group, as well as 70 real estate objects, including property complexes and land plots with a total value of over UAH 4.5 billion.
Pre-trial investigation into sabotage and aggressive warfare (Part 1 of Article 113, Part 1 of Article 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is run by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine for Crimea under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, with the assistance of the counterintelligence office for critical infrastructure and countering the financing of terrorism of the SBU Department of National State Protection, as well as the Department of Public and State Protection of the National Police.
