Georgia received $258 million from international tourist visits in May, up by 250.4% YoY, the Georgian National Tourism Administration said.
Revenues from international tourism have also recovered by 95.6% compared to the pre-pandemic 2019, the GNTA said.
In the first five months of 2022, revenues from international tourism reached $840 million, up by 374.5% YoY and by 75.3% from the pre-pandemic 2019 number.
Last month Georgia welcomed 359,238 international travelers, up by 49.7% from the pre-pandemic 2019 figure and by 228.5% YoY.
The number included 264,327 tourist visits, up by 62.3% from the same period of 2019 and by 173.9% YoY.
In the first five months of 2022, international travelers made 1,180,034 visits in Georgia, an increase of 257.8% compared to the same period of last year and a 39.5% recovery compared to 2019.
During the same period, the number of tourist visits totaled 906,670, up by 213.8% YoY and by 54.8% from January-May 2019, the GNTA said. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
