As Russia’s war in Ukraine continues, Lithuania’s Caritas is launching its third campaign to collect aid for the people of Ukraine.
The collection of aid will take place for three days in Vilnius, Kaunas, Marijampole, Panevezys, Siauliai, Klaipeda, Kaisiadorys, Lazdijai, Sakiai, Taurage, as well as in a several other district centres.
This time, collected aid will go to the residents of Odesa, Poltava, Mykolaiv and Kyiv.
“The war, unfortunately, continues for more than 100 days now, and the people of Ukraine are fighting for their country every day. We need to help, even though there are already signs of fatigue within our environment. This time, we are inviting people in Lithuania to contribute by responding to the requests of the four regional Caritas offices in Ukraine,” said Deimante Bukeikaite, head of Lithuania’s Caritas.
In her words, the Caritas centres in the Poltava, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions have become internal refugee accommodation centres. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
