Poland is ready to develop its infrastructure to transport Ukrainian grain blocked by Russia to the Middle East and Africa, Mateusz Morawiecki prime minister of Poland said on May 31.
“I have told our friends in the EU that Poland is ready to change and expand its border, transport, railway and port infrastructures in a short term. We will be able to reach some result in several months,” he said.
He noted that Poland would hold negotiations with Ukrainian partners soon to discuss the largest possible volumes of export of Ukrainian grain, as Ukraine was one of the largest supplier of grain to the Middle East and Africa.
Morawiecki said that Poland had offered a constructive cooperation and would be in a close contact with the European Commission about Polish abilities to organize the transportation through the Polish border and Slawkow railway station.
“At least, a part of grain blocked in the Black Sea can be transported,” he summarized. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
