In January-July the export volumes of agricultural food products from Ukraine increased by 2.6% YoY to $7.8 billion, while imports went up by 10% to $2.2 billion, the press-service of the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB) declared.
According to the announcement, the share of agricultural products in the general export structure reached 40.1%, up by 4.9% YoY. The import’s share of agriculture products increased from 9.5% (in the first seven months 2015) to 10.8% in 2016.
“Major volumes, particularly 38%, of supplies growth to Ukraine were devoted to group of fats & oils originated from animals and plants, mainly caused by an increase in import of palm oil by 63% in cash terms”, – the association informed.
Also, in the reporting period the export volumes of sunflower oil from Ukraine increased by 23% (or by 397.4 thousand tons YoY).
Live animals and products export decreased by 11.9% (by $52.1 million) YoY. Such a negative move was mostly caused by shortening of pork and cattle meats foreign supplying. Ready foods exports decreased by 10.7% (by $150.1 million) YoY. Plants’ products exports did not significantly change. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
