Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $18 billion in January-June, up by 13.6% YoY. The country’s statistical committee said that the number was still below the pre-pandemic figure of $19.6 billion.
Exports exceeded $7 billion, expanding by 12.3%. Imports increased by 14.3%, to $10.9 billion. The negative balance of foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.9 billion.
Exports excluding gold increased by 36.4%.
China was the largest trading partner (18.2%), with Russia coming second (17%) and Kazakhstan third (10.4%).
The share of foreign trade turnover with the CIS countries increased by 2.5%, to $6.6 billion. (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
