The unemployment rate in Ukraine in October-December 2019 increased to 8.7% from 7.3% reported in the third quarter of 2019, or 1.6 million citizens in absolute numbers, the State Statistics Service reported.
The report says the number of employed citizens aged 15-70 in the fourth quarter of 2019 amounted to 16.5 million. The employment rate of the population aged 15-70 years stood at 57.7%.
The State Statistics Service noted that the data were given excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
