The consumer basket currently stands at 101 leva (51.64 euros), compared to 94 leva (48.06 euros) in the same period in 2024.
The increase was 7 leva (3.58 euros). This was announced at a briefing by Vladimir Ivanov, Chairman of the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets.
He presented the commission’s weekly review of the dynamics of wholesale prices for basic food products, fruits and vegetables for the period from May 20 to July 21.
The most significant contribution to the price increase was made by fruits, the prices of which increased by 4 leva (1.94 euros) due to the drought. As for basic food products, the increase was 3 leva (1.53 euros). Since May 20, there have been no sharp fluctuations in wholesale prices, the commission noted.
In annual terms, there has been a 23% increase in the prices of flour, and 24% for eggs and sunflower oil. (Novinite)
