In 2024 Ukrainian companies spent $669.4 million on electricity imports. The relevant statement was made by Ukraine’s think tank DiXi Group on Facebook.
“$669.4 million – this is the record-breaking value of last year’s electricity imports. In 2024 they cost Ukraine $2 million higher than in the previous five years combined,” the report states.
According to DiXi Group, the reason was that electricity imports hit record volumes and electricity prices changed compared to 2023.
Meanwhile, electricity exports generated $81 million last year.
“During 2023-2024 we had a negative foreign electricity trade balance. All because of the war that the terrorist state is waging against Ukraine, destroying our energy infrastructure,” DiXi Group stressed. (Ukrinform)
