The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to provide grant support to small agricultural producers. The relevant order No. 495-r “On the Allocation of Funds from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food” was adopted at a regular meeting. The document was drafted by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The grants will primarily provide financial support to farmers who own or use up to 120 hectares of land and keep up to 100 cows or 500 breeding goats or sheep.
With additional funds allocated by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, an agricultural producer can receive the following support:
– UAH 4,000 per hectare of cultivated land;
– UAH 7,000 per cow of all productivity breeds;
– UAH 2,000 per head of goats or sheep.
Applications for assistance will be accepted through the State Agrarian Register.
The launch of the application process will be announced on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. Registration is expected to start at the end of June.
In addition, the authorised capital of the Fund for Partial Guarantee of Loans in Agriculture has been increased. This will significantly reduce lending risks for banks and encourage banks to cooperate with small and medium-sized agricultural producers. (Government portal)
