The State Fiscal Service (SFS) in 2022 recovered from taxpayers with debts payments non-paid in time to the budget amounting to 2.6 billion lei (130 million euros).
Most money – 1.7 billion lei – was recovered through foreclosure measures. Over 900 million lei was recovered through preliminary compliance actions. About 596 million lei out of all sum represents the sum collected in order to pay off the fiscal obligations of the taxpayers with big debts.
According to SFS data, during the first three months of 2023, the sum collected to pay off the fiscal obligations stood at 728.5 million lei, of which 462.5 million lei through foreclosure actions and 266 million lei through preliminary actions. This is 30% more than last year.
In 2022, 25 requests on the recovery of debts were received from foreign states. Another six requests to this end were formulated in the first three months of 2023. According to the situation recorded in March, decision-makers started the foreclosure procedure against debtors, according to requests received from foreign countries.
