Poland recorded a PLN 9.2-billion (EUR 2-billion) state budget surplus after the first four months of 2022, the finance minister indicated.
This compares to a PLN 0.3-billion (EUR 65-million) deficit in Q1, Magdalena Rzeczkowska wrote in a comment on May 24.
“In April, state budget revenues rose by 4.3% YoY or by around PLN 2 billion (EUR 434 million), to around PLN 48 billion (EUR 10 billion),” the statement read.
“In January-April, the execution of the state budget revenues reached PLN 168.1 billion (EUR 36.52 billion) and was higher by PLN 21 billion (EUR 4.56 billion), or by 14.3% YoY,” Rzeczkowska said.
According to the budget law for 2022, the government’s revenues should reach PLN 491.9 billion (EUR 105 billion), while expenditures should be at PLN 521.8 billion (EUR 111.38 billion). (The First News/Business World Magazine)
