One of the largest underground crossings in Chisinau is being repaired with financial help from Galati City Hall.
Buiucani praetor’s office announced that the underground pedestrian passage of Ion Creanga street – bd. Stefan cel Mare si Sfant and Dimitrie Cantemir Square were undergoing repair today. The total cost of the works amounts to about 4 million lei. Half of this amount is the contribution of Chisinau City Hall, and the other half is a financial support that comes from the City Hall of Galati, Romania.
High repair costs are due to the fact that the underground passage has never been rehabilitated before, and in recent years it was a danger to pedestrians due to damaged stairs and darkness. As the flow of people passing through this underground daily is high, the repair works will be carried out gradually, without limiting the access of the population. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
