The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has been empowered to build, reconstruct, repair and maintain motor border checkpoints. The relevant decision was endorsed by the Government. Thus, now the Ministry of Infrastructure, as a responsible authority, will engage in the development of infrastructure at checkpoints across the state border, regardless of modes of transport.
“This decision adds border infrastructure to the presidential project Large Construction, namely international motor border checkpoints. In particular, Yagodyn – Dorohusk, Uzhhorod – Vysne Nemecke and Chop – Zahony. Our flagship project: modernization and development of IMBP Yagodyn – Dorohusk. It accounts for 40% of all road haulage in Ukraine. The modernization of checkpoints and the increase of their capacity are part of Ukraine’s commitments within the framework of agreements with our western neighbors, in particular Poland. Our team has the relevant managerial experience to adjust the processes of modernization of road checkpoints, create a comfortable space for users and finally solve the critical problem of queues at the Ukrainian border,” said Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
