The Latvian Justice Ministry has evaluated the government’s plan to require workers in a number of sectors to be able to present the digital Covid-19 certificate and found that it would not contradict the Latvian Constitution.
On July 14, the Cabinet of Ministers planned to discuss amendments to the Law on the Management of the Spread of Covid-19 that would introduce from October the right of employees to terminate a working relationship with an employee, who had not acquired the digital Covid-19.
It is issued in Latvia and the EU to a person, who has been vaccinated against Covid-19, has recovered from the disease or has been recently tested against the disease and received a negative test result.
The Justice Ministry stated that the measure would not violate the Latvian Constitution, in particular the rights to private life granted in Article 96 and Article 116. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
