PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia has invested into the development of the company almost UAH 3.5 billion raised this year from the indexation of tariffs for freight, Acting Head of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov stated at a meeting with representatives of shipping companies, the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reports.
“Ukrzaliznytsia, as promised, fulfills its obligations to shippers and directs funds received from indexation solely to capital investments,” Kravtsov said.
According to him, this year over UAH 3.46 billion of raised funds has been directed to the construction, modernization and repair of freight wagons, major repairs of locomotives and modernization of track. The largest amount of funds from the investment account worth over UAH 1.44 billion was invested into materials for the construction, modernization and repair of freight wagons, almost UAH 1 billion was directed to major repairs and modernization of locomotives, more than UAH 656 million – to the modernization of track, and UAH 390 million – to new freight wagons.
During the meeting, representatives of the railway transport market also outlined main problems that arose during the transportation of goods and the ways of their solution. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
