In January-June the Port of Tallinn handled 10.09 million tons of cargo, up by 1.4% YoY. According to the Port Authorities, transshipment of containers climbed by 6.4%, to 108,920 TEUs.
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo grew by 1%, to 4.28 million tons, and Ro-Ro – by 8.9%, to 2.73 million tons, while transshipment of dry bulk cargo fell by 6.2%, to 1.78 million tons.
In the reporting period, passenger turnover climbed by 0.2%, to 4.82 million passengers.
The number of calls declined by 1.5%, to 3,676 units.
The Port of Tallinn comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2017 the port handled 19.18 million tons of cargo. (PortNews/Business World Magazine)
