In January-June, local budgets received UAH 112.4 million in parking fee. This is 11.1% (UAH 11.2 million) more than in the same period last year, when revenues amounted to UAH 101.2 million.
The largest amounts were paid by taxpayers in the Odesa region – UAH 39.2 million, Lviv – UAH 30.2 million, Dnipropetrovsk – UAH 27.1 million, and Ivano-Frankivsk – UAH 4.7 million.
The parking fee belongs to local fees, and therefore its revenues remain in the communities. These funds help develop transport infrastructure, equip parking lots, increase road safety and create a comfortable urban space for everyone.
At the same time, the legislation guarantees the accessibility of parking for people with disabilities. The fee is not collected from the areas of land plots that are allocated for free parking of vehicles of drivers with disabilities or drivers transporting people with disabilities.
Such places are mandatory in specially equipped or allocated parking lots. Their number must be at least 10% of the total number of parking spaces, but not less than one place. In addition, they must be marked with appropriate road signs and/or road markings. This ensures unhindered access to the parking infrastructure for people with disabilities, veterans, the elderly and other groups of the population with limited mobility. (State Tax Service)
