The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has increased the maximum limit of state support for agricultural producers using reclaimed land and water user organizations.
Corresponding amendments have been made to the Procedure for Using State Budget Funds to Provide Such Support. The decision will strengthen the ability of farmers to restore and develop the reclamation infrastructure necessary for the stable production of agricultural products.
From now on, the maximum amount of support per 1 hectare of cultivated land will be:
– 30,022 hryvnias – for agricultural producers and water user organizations throughout Ukraine;
– 48,036 hryvnias for farmers and water user organizations working in frontline areas.
Annual indexation of the maximum amount of state support in accordance with the inflation rate is also provided, starting from January 1, 2027.
“The development of land reclamation is a matter of supporting agricultural production and food security in Ukraine. Today, we are creating conditions so that farmers and water user organizations can restore infrastructure, introduce modern irrigation technologies and use water resources more efficiently. It is the partnership between the state, water users and the agricultural sector that is the basis for the sustainable development of land reclamation in Ukraine,” said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Iryna Ovcharenko.
Increased state support will contribute to additional motivation of farmers to reconstruct existing land reclamation systems, build new engineering infrastructure facilities, modernize pumping stations and expand the area of irrigated land.
The adoption of the Government Resolution “On Amendments to Clause 6 of the Procedure for the Use of Funds Provided in the State Budget for Providing State Support to Agricultural Producers Using Reclamated Land and Water User Organizations” is another and consistent step in the development of the hydrotechnical reclamation reform. It creates additional conditions for the effective use of water resources, the development of irrigation, and the adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate challenges. (Economy Ministry)
